I just watched the film 'Cahaya dari Timur: Beta Maluku' which in 2014 was named the Best Film at the Indonesian Film Festival. I was indeed late watching this film. However, the grains of the story in the film still felt and were quite inspiring.
There is one quote that I like about the film, which was made entirely in the native Maluku language. Words of encouragement given to a coach who was also down due to frustration. Sani Tawainella, played by Chicco Jericho, almost gave up hope when bringing her team to compete at the national level.
But one part of Yosef's sentence, his assistant coach, made his spirits rise again. He said "Just give one sweet touch of all bitter".
Life does not always end sweet. In fact, almost what is experienced always ends in a bitter taste. However, when we are able to give something sweet in life, then the bitter will disappear by itself. These words, are relevant to all things in this life. Similarly, the blogger profession.
Many novice bloggers fail to move out of position because they always hope that everything will turn out sweet. In fact, even the bitter will always have meaning. We can recognize the sweet taste after the bitter ones we enjoy.
Inspired by the film above, POPREVAENG in this post will share experiences and a little observation why there are many beginner bloggers who fail before sailing.
Almost everything that will be discussed in this article is directly related to the attitude of the blogger in question. So I hope, what I write is not too patronizing, because the matter of attitude is a personal matter of each of them that I cannot bother.
1. Overly Focusing on Editing a Theme
I am one of those who failed to develop a blog because I was too focused on this issue. The theme or appearance of the blog for novice bloggers is everything. Though it should not be a top priority, especially if you do not have adequate coding skills.
I once left the blog world because of breaking up, the theme that I edited instead of being good was even abysmally altogether. Unfortunately, to return to the original view also can not. Repeatedly change the theme but the results remain the same. The blog that I developed doesn't even have any prospect.
Bloggers who dwell too long on matters of theme are bloggers who always hope for perfection. Though nothing is perfect, because every time we try to make it perfect, there will be other deficiencies. If this attitude continues to be maintained, then the developed blog will not go forward.
2. Impatience
There is a saying " Patients are loved by God". This should also be applied when running a blog. Unfortunately, not all bloggers are patient. Many things in the world of blogs that test the limits of our patience and not a few who failed in dealing with these trials.
For example, can not wait to have many visitors, so he did the ways of phishing. In fact, visitors with a lot of correlation are mainly content too much. To create content up to hundreds of pages is not a matter of a day or two. But it can even be annual, so patience is needed.
Patience trials where most bloggers fail is when creating content. Because he wanted to have the optimal amount immediately, he took the most shameful thing. Namely copy paste from another blog. Though such a rushed attitude is not good for the blog and blogger in question.
3. Too Much Reading but Lack of Application
A lot of reading is definitely a good thing. But in the world of blogging, just reading isn't enough. Because every reading material should have a direct impact on the reader. For example, making new writing with inspiration from previous reading material.
If you are a blogger, then you must instill in yourself, so that it presents interesting reading material for others. Because people visit a blog, not just to see how it looks, or the number of ads. They visited because of the reading material.
So, if you only read a lot, but there is no application, you are not suitable to be a blogger. Suitable only as a reader. Because being a blogger has two burdens, it has insight and gives insight. One insight is through writing, video or infographic.
4. Too ambitious to get money
Online money is indeed tempting and many people have ambitions to make money from personal blogs. There is nothing wrong with that ambition. But it must be understood, that there are no buyers who come to an empty shop. Ambition that is too large can also damage slowly.
Many bloggers whose sole purpose is money. So that when the expectations are not met, a sense of disappointment is inevitable. If so, not a few bloggers who nevertheless continue their blogs, because once again, there is no money he gets.
Blogs are not a money-making machine. Not today created, tomorrow thousands of dollars bagged. The ambition to make money from a blog is fine, I was like that. However, do not make it a high expectation, because when it falls, the pain is felt.
5. Writing Only For Search Engines
Learning SEO (Search engine optimization) for a blogger is mandatory. But making SEO more than anything is also not good. Because some bloggers interpret the structure that must be used in SEO is binding and absolute. So when writing, he writes for the search engine. Not a reader.
Many bloggers make writing without good aesthetics. Everywhere is very prominent desire to create keywords in search engines. As a result, the writing created is not interesting to read, because it can only be understood by robots, not humans.
Should have written well on the blog, it could be for both. Friendly to readers and liked by search engines. Do not also make writing that is not understood by search engines. Because after all, the source of our visitor traffic is a search engine.
6. Lazy But Dreamy High
The worst attitude of a blogger is a feeling of laziness that is maintained. Strangely, the lazy attitude sometimes always coexists with high expectations. Even though there will be no mountain which is divided if it is done only in wishful thinking. All must be by hand.
The most dangerous lazy is lazy to update the blog. If this continues to be maintained, it's no wonder you will become a failed blogger. Not a few have gone through that. I have also experienced it, to rise again with a clear purpose.
Lazy to update the usual blog experienced by bloggers who run out of writing ideas. They always think, everything has been written and there is no inspiration. This assumption is wrong, because anything in this world will never be written down. All always have something new.
7. Have no goals
Feeling lazy that befell the blogger because he has no clear purpose in running a blog. He did not know, what this blog will be and how it will be. Or what is the purpose and purpose for blogging. If the goal is money, as explained in number 4 above, it must go through all the stages.
The purpose of blogging every person is different. But from that clear purpose, we will know where this blog will be taken. If we have absolutely no purpose in blogging, then laziness and other obstacles encountered in the future will not be resolved properly.
Many fail in this profession because they set the wrong goals, or even have no goals at all. Because clear goals are the best form of motivation.
Actually there are still many bad attitudes of a blogger until finally labeled a failure. I wrote 7 things above, because almost everything I've experienced. If friends have a similar experience or are out of the 7 things above, please share it in the comments column.
Because sharing experiences with others is a valuable lesson that doesn't need heavy theory. This is also what is believed by Sani Tawainella when bringing the team made by champions at the national level. He had experienced failure and buried his dreams deeply, so he did not want his students to fail.
Greetings Creations!
