Downloading and uploading files on the internet is a familiar thing. The simplicity of both of these activities is the transmission of files, both from server to user or vice versa. But not a few people who understand clearly about the meaning of downloading and uploading.
Even though in my opinion these two things are basic knowledge of the internet. Therefore, I want to give an explanation of the meaning of download and upload in full
Definition of Download
Simple download is "download", which is the process of taking data (such as music, videos, movies, documents, pictures, etc.) from the server computer (other computers) to the user's computer (our computer) itself. When you download movies or videos from the internet it is one example of downloads.
When someone wants to download, one must first request the server computer, so it can also be said that downloading is the process of receiving and retrieving files from the server to the user. The purpose of the download itself is nothing but to retrieve a file that we need from the server.
Definition of Upload
While uploading is the opposite, so where is the process when we "send" files to other computers or server computers. Then the uploaded file will be published and anyone can see it, just like you update a photo on Instagram. The purpose of uploading is to spread, publish files so that they can be seen or used by others.
What are downstream and upstream?
Besides downloading and uploading, there are two more closely related terms namely downstream and upstream. What is downstream and upstream? The following explanation.
The definition of downstream itself is internet speed or data flow when we are downloading. The maximum limit for downstream is 284 kbps or 512 kbps. While the understanding of upstream is the speed of data flow when we are uploading, with a maximum speed of 64 kbps.
So that's the meaning of downloading, uploading, downstream, and upstream, do you understand? Please comment if there are still things to ask. Hopefully this article is useful.
