If you feel disturbed, you can turn off Facebook notifications on Android . You can even choose what you want to turn off.
Indeed, the Facebook application is quite aggressive in sending notifications. If you haven't changed the settings since you first installed the application, you will definitely receive lots of notifications. Though not all you need.
Maybe you already know where the settings are in the application and have set them up. But surprisingly there are still only incoming notifications. For some reason, I had experienced it.
Apparently, there are still settings from Android itself in addition to the Facebook application settings. Let's look at both.
Disable Facebook Notifications from Application
- Press the Menu key ☰
- Scroll down to Settings & Privacy , enter Settings .
- Scroll down to Notifications , enter Notification Settings .
- Search and select Facebook .
- There, you will see various notification categories (along with examples).
- Enter each category to arrange it. Usually there is the main choice to turn off, and 3 choices of notification facilities (push, email, and sms).
- For groups, you must enter the settings of each group under the main settings and adjust them.
Disable Facebook Notifications from Android Settings
Depending on what version of Android you are using, the steps can be different. The steps below are using Android 8.1 Oreo .
- Enter Android Settings .
- Enter Application & Notifications .
- Search and select Facebook .
- Enter Application Notification .
- Set the type of notification to your liking.
You might find that notification settings via Android are different from those in the Facebook application. If so, to be sure, adjust both settings with the same choice. Surely according to your wishes.
