After cleaning up on YouTube by cutting a lot of partners, Google also imposed new rules for publishers or publishers of advertisements on websites. Not a few publishers are asked to activate ads.txt if you do not want to lose revenue.
This step of Google Adsense is a way to protect advertisers and ad publishers. It is nothing. Indeed, not a few cases of abuse by irresponsible parties. For example showing ads using someone else's Display ID.
As a result cases such as the click bombs never bloom. The losers are not only ad publishers, but also advertisers because they pay for something incompetent. Advertisers want to spend money for chasing certain markets, if misused so, certainly loss. Google is also blamed.
After being initiated by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), in order to increase transparency in advertising programs, Google finally participated in implementing this ads.txt. Ads are not stands for Adsense, but are Authorized Digital Sellers.
By installing or activating ads.txt we make sure to advertisers that our website or blog is an official partner. So they do not have to worry about putting up advertisements. Or in Google Adsense, they are free to open an auction to our website.
Activating ads.txt is not mandatory, for those who have not received a notification. But it will be mandatory if the Google Adsense account appears appeal. Incidentally, I couldn't get the notification and ads.txt POPREVAENG was activated automatically. So it is not mandatory.
But one of the visitors of POPREVAENG received a notification. I finally found out, because Adsense actually linked the address of this blog in it. Somehow the story. The blog owner who calls himself Bang Bro then asks for help. Be this article I made.
For Adsense publishers who can appeal like that, don't be taken lightly. They are not kidding. If not done immediately, then the ads on our website will disappear. Therefore, you should immediately activate ads.txt.
There are two methods that can be done to activate this ads.txt. For Blogspot users, the way is easier, and for Wordpress users, especially the self domain way is also different. The following explanation respectively:
How to Activate Ads.txt on Blogspot
If you get a notification like the picture above, then immediately activate it. Because the impact is indeed fatal. If you activate late, it will take another 24 hours for the ad to appear after it is activated later.
For Blogspot users the way is very easy. Just go to the 'Settings' section on the dashboard then choose 'Search Preferences'. Scroll through the most bontot pages until you find Monetization. If it is not active, then the text '[Disabled]'. Remaining clicking 'Edit' for configuration.
Before setting, the first thing to do is to create an ads.txt file. The format is as follows:
google.com, pub-0000000000000000, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0
The code is three important data information. The first field, Google . com is the domian name for the advertising system. Because the Adsense service provider is made by Google, this is the first place.
The second field is the view account ID. Because of Adsense speaking, the Adsense Display ID is entered. The number must be exactly as it appears on your Adsense dashboard. If you have other channels such as DoubleClick for Publishers or Ad Exchange, please enter each one.
The third field is the format of the collaboration. Or the relationship with the account ID. There are two types that can be used, 'DIRECT' and 'RESELLER'. Direct is specifically for ad publishers who work with direct advertising systems. Like Google Adsense.
Entering Direct means establishing direct cooperation without full control of the ads served. While entering the Reseller instead. We can control advertisements and provide access to third parties who want to advertise. DFP and Ad Exchange services are more appropriate for this.
While the last field is the certification authority ID. If the three fields above are mandatory, for this authority ID is optional, the alias can not be used. But it should still be applied. Because the combination of numeric letters at the end is Google's Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG).
After replacing the Display ID in the code above with yours, then paste it on the 'Monetization' page as shown below. Then click 'Save Changes' to finish. Wait 24 hours later for the ads.txt to be active.
How to Activate Ads.txt on cPanel
For Blogspot users it will be quite easy to activate the code, but users with self-hosted websites must activate it through cPanel. Regardless of whether you use Wordpress as a CMS or other platforms such as Drupal or Singles.
The first step that must be done, write the above Ads code in notepad and save it in txt format (ads.txt). After that open the cPanel website that is managed and enter the 'File Manager' or 'File Manager' section.
Go to 'public_html'. Enter ads.txt on this page by uploading it directly. Click 'Upload' on the top menu. Upload by searching for files that have been previously saved. After uploading, do a refrest.
Now check your website by accessing the domain name . com / ads . txt . If the same code appears above when accessing your domain, the activation of ads.txt has been successful. The code can be added more if your website does have more advertising channels.
The ads.txt code for each website can be different, like the one in Kompas.com . When accessing ads.txt it will display a list like the following:
I do not know yet what the main reason Google Adsense is calling for ads.txt activation on some accounts. However, it is likely those who experience it for not activating Site authorization. It is better to activate the site authorization because we automatically inform AdSense that the site in our list is ours.
This is also an effort to keep the Display ID from being misused by people. Although the ID is spread everywhere. Only websites that register the advertising ID will work. Hopefully useful, if you still have questions or stories to tell, please meet in the comments column.
Greetings creations!
